Episode #5: I talk with the founder and president of the Men’s ADHD support group on Facebook Marc Alvomodar about how he got involved in such a much-needed platform. Marc describes how he always knew that he was a little bit different and how he was “living in distraction.” How being diagnosed at sixteen with ADHD and severe depression helped forge his desire to help others by getting into coaching. Marc was shocked to find that dedicated safe spaces for men to come and share openly about their struggles with ADHD were virtually nonexistent.Marc recalls the journey from just an idea to now being one of the largest men’s ADHD support groups reaching over 20,000 members. He also talks about his experience growing up in the hispanic community with ADHD and they are still largely underserved. We also talk about depression, and he describes it as a mind that is “wired against him.” With the tools he learned to harness he was able to rewire his brain and transform into a more energetic and enthusiastic person. Looking back, Marc expresses how he is grateful for that time and how it inspires him to “be the voice that I wanted to hear at that time.”

Ep. 006: This is the first part of a series in which I explore the root causes behind depression and the mindsets that can contribute to it, and in the end I’m going to delve into ways to overcome and deal with depression in a healthy and effective way. In this episode I talk about my experience with depression and some of the ways that have helped me to get better with it. That it has been a lifelong battle for me, yet through talking about it there is light at the end of the tunnel.I examine the chemical aspects of what can contribute to depression including dopamine, serotonin and cortisol. Through my research, I take a peek into Naturopath Jodi Gozzard’s expertise on the subjects of allergies, gut health and diet and how they can have a real impact on emotional well-being. I hope that this sheds light onto a subject that doesn’t get talked about as much as it should and has become a silent epidemic.

Episode # 010: In this episode I talk with ADHD Organizer Coach Megs Crawford about how after she started working with a therapist while pursuing her masters degree it became apparent that she might benefit from getting diagnosed with ADHD. Her immediate thoughts were how could I go through my entire life and not know that I have ADHD? She talks about how after reading Faster Than Normal by Peter Shankman she felt that she wasn’t alone and that empowered her on her journey of self-discovery.It was a real pleasure enjoying her positive energy that she describes as “being super tapped into the feelings that she wants to have on a regular basis.” Megs shared with us about how she learned that from her mother and always tried to model that in her life and to be a great role model for her children. She also talks about what finally motivated her to become a coach and start her own podcast. Megs even coaches me on how I can be more successful with organization in my daily life schedule just by asking the right questions.

Episode # 017: Dive into a vibrant, eye-opening journey with don’t mind me I’m different, where host Ron Souers tackles the often-overlooked world of ADHD and depression in women with his signature blend of honesty, curiosity, and a dash of rebellion. In this episode, Ron flips the script on societal expectations, hormonal rollercoasters, and the art of masking—revealing how these hidden forces shape women’s mental health in ways that defy stereotypes. With quirky music, special guests and a game called "The Power Up," he transforms heavy topics into an engaging experiment, inviting listeners to rethink what they know about ADHD and depression. This isn’t your typical podcast—it’s a call to action wrapped in a playful challenge. Ron uncovers why women are diagnosed later (and less often) than men, how hormones amplify the struggle, and why masking symptoms is a survival tactic, not a fix. By the end, you’ll be armed with a fresh perspective and a fun framework to turn stereotypes into strengths. Whether you’re an "ADHD warrior" or just curious, this episode promises to inspire, inform, and empower you to join the conversation—and maybe even change the narrative for yourself or someone you love.

PK and I dig into the messy truth of masking ADHD, the power of meds (or mindfulness), and exactly why workplaces need to stop playing fairness police and start embracing flexibility. From spite-fueled wins to intersectional battles, we’re peeling back the layers of stigma and handing you tools to thrive. Whether you’re an ADHD warrior, an ally, or just curious, this episode will leave you fired up to own your differences and demand a world that bends for you—not the other way around

Episode # 019: This episode promises to be a wild ride with Bonnie Brindle, The Anxiety Avenger™! We kick it off with a game: if anxiety’s a cheesy movie villain, she’s blasting it with lasers while I’m ducking behind the couch like, “Save me, Gandalf of Calm!” Bonnie spills the tea on her panic-packed past—agoraphobia shrinking her world, dropping out of college, the whole “trapped by a three-headed fang-beast” vibe. But she flipped the script, trading pills for wildlife imagery (think wolves and hawks as her posse) and cracking the crazymakers’ code—those sneaky roots like family baggage or society’s “just power through” BS. We dive deep into taming the chaos—Bonnie’s dropping gems like Jin Shin Jyutsu finger holds and chatting up trees when our fellow humans just don’t get it. I’m over here confessing my social media meltdowns—scrolling’s my kryptonite—while she’s schooling us on energy blocks and why “woo-woo” beats Zoloft any day. We play “Drop the Plate”so hit play, snag Bonnie’s book Cracking the Crazymakers’ Code at her link below and join the avenger squad. This episodes a dopamine shot straight to your soul—let’s slay those inner dragons together!

Episode # 020: Hey, my ADHD squad, strap in for episode 20 of Don’t Mind Me, I’m Different—we’re hunting a sneaky villain: stigma, not ADHD! Picture me, dodging life’s squirrels to call out The Shadow, that jerk whispering “you’re broken” every time my brain pinballs. From ancient Greece’s burn marks to today’s side-eyes at my desk chaos, stigma’s been gatekeeping our shine forever. I’m spilling my guts—how I thought I was the glitch ‘til I learned it’s just society’s bad script. This episode's a wild ride through shame, labels, and why we’re epic because of our wiring—so grab your headphones and strap in!We’re shredding The Shadow’s tricks—think Doubt Weaver calling you “lazy” or Silence Enforcer zipping your lips.
Episode 039: In Part Four of Don’t Mind Me, I Just Have ADHD, we look at the wounds that didn’t start with us, but live in us: generational trauma. Guided by the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, we explore how absence—handshakes instead of hugs, silence instead of comfort—gets passed down through families, shaping not only how we perceive ourselves, but also how our very nervous systems develop. From royal palaces to ordinary homes, trauma shows up in ways that are often invisible but deeply felt. And if even princes carry these wounds, what does that mean for the rest of us?Ron also sits down with his own mother for a raw and intimate conversation—unpacking family history, doubt, shame, emotional security, nervous breakdowns, and the complex but honest path toward healing. But this story is bigger than family.

And if even princes carry these wounds, what does that mean for the rest of us?

Ron also sits down with his own mother for a raw and intimate conversation—unpacking family history, doubt, shame, emotional security, nervous breakdowns, and the complex but honest path toward healing.

But this story is bigger than family. Next week, we turn to the pharmaceutical industry—the marketing, money, and narratives that have entangled ADHD with profit and shame. What happens when an entire system profits from our pain?
Episode 040: In this eye-opening episode of Don’t Mind Me, I Just Have ADHD, host Ron Souers invites you to zoom out and see ADHD through a radical new lens—one that exposes the billion-dollar industry shaping your diagnosis. This isn’t just about pills and prescriptions. This is about stories—who gets to tell them, who profits from them, and how those stories become the invisible bars of our mental health.Following Part Four’s deeply personal conversation with Ron’s mother on generational trauma and inherited shame, Part Five examines how pharmaceutical companies, cultural messaging, and medical marketing have all played a role in shaping how we understand—and misinterpret—ADHD.With sensitivity, honesty, and fierce kindness, Ron walks us through the real science, the real risks, and the real harm that occurs when people are reduced to a diagnosis and medicated without meaningful care.If you’ve ever felt like you’re broken without a prescription, this episode is for you.💡 What You’ll Learn:How ADHD diagnoses skyrocketed alongside Big Pharma’s marketing campaigns. Why “fix the child” narratives hurt more than they help. The danger of shame-based medication messaging. How to ask for an honest, trauma-informed ADHD assessment.Powerful daily practices to rewrite inherited beliefs. Why being “wired differently” doesn’t make you defective—it makes you adapted. How to reconnect with yourself through prosocial behavior and fierce kindness.Other Great Ways to Connect with Me:👩‍🏫Strength Coaching with Ron: www.youradhdguy.com📬 Subscribe & join The Kindness Circle!👩‍🦯Tik Tok @RonSolo1📻 Patreon Patreon.com/ronsouers📨Email Ronsouers@dadhdwss.com

Episode 044: “And that's the way it is…”But not quite—not when it comes to how we’ve misunderstood ADHD and the trauma buried beneath it.In this compelling and deeply human episode of "Don’t Mind Me, I Just Have ADHD," host Ron Souers sits down with hypnotherapist Christopher Marsh, whose journey from a burned-out tech executive to a trauma-informed healer is as revelatory as it is relatable.Together, they dismantle the pathologized myths around ADHD and dig beneath the surface to where the real story lives: in the subconscious, shaped by trauma, fear of rejection, and the environments that failed to see us clearly. What if your ADHD isn’t broken—but brilliantly adapted? What if your brain isn’t working against you… but trying to protect you the only way it knows how? This is more than a podcast episode. It’s a mirror, a manual, and maybe even a moment of awakening.🎓 What You’ll Learn:✅ Why ADHD is often the symptom, not the source✅ How trauma gets stored in the subconscious like old, protective software✅ The surprising link between ADHD, people-pleasing, and imposter syndrome✅ Why hypnotherapy is an underutilized tool for ADHDers✅ How to begin rewiring old subconscious programming with compassion✅ Why your brain isn’t defective—it’s responding to an unsafe world✅ Actionable insights on how to regulate, reconnect, and reclaim your storyWays to Connect with Christopher Marshwww.developlink.com(49)Chris (@developlink) | TikTok(1) InstagramOther Great Ways to Connect with Me:👩‍🏫My website: www.youradhdguy.com📬 Subscribe & join The Kindness Circle!👩‍🦯Tik Tok @RonSolo1📻 Patreon Patreon.com/ronsouers📨Email Ronsouers@dadhdwss.com

Episode 045: In this episode, Ron sits down with Elisha Lee—a licensed counselor and owner of Restoring You Christian Counseling Mental Health Practice, survivor of domestic violence, and fierce advocate for trauma-informed care—to explore what it means to reclaim your voice after years of silence.Elisha shares her deeply personal journey through trauma, ADHD, and the invisible wounds many of us carry. We speak candidly about depression as a mask for repressed anger, about how society cages our emotions, and how people with ADHD—often misunderstood—are some of the most creative, intuitive, and adaptive minds among us.We uncover how visualization can be a key to breaking free, how a workout routine can anchor healing, and how recovery is not just a process—it’s a rebellion against the lie that you are not enough. This episode is a call to every soul who has ever felt trapped, voiceless, or overwhelmed by the chaos in their mind: you are not broken. And with the right tools, community, and compassion—you can find your way out.So I urge you—listen closely, reflect deeply, and stay with us to the very end. Because the first step toward freedom… is believing that healing is possible.🎓 What You’ll Learn:✅ How ADHD and trauma interact beneath the surface—and why masking can look like laziness or depression.✅ Why people with ADHD often excel in creativity, workarounds, and communication (when seen and supported).✅ How visualization and daily movement practices can regulate the nervous system and support emotional release.✅ The surprising link between repressed anger and depression—and how reclaiming your voice can change everything.✅ Why connection—not perfection—is the cornerstone of lasting healing.Ways to Connect with Elisha Lee:www.RestoringYouChristianCounseling.comElisha's Space Podcast(443) 860-6870Her Literature:Mindfulness Biblical Affirmations of Forgiveness and Grace: An Adult Coloring Journey to Peace and RestorationThe Mental Health Handbook: Strategies for Self-Care and ResilienceOther Great Ways to Connect with Me:Paws & Peace: A Calming Pet Coloring Book for Adults with ADHD👩‍🏫My website: www.youradhdguy.com📬 Subscribe & join The Kindness Circle!👩‍🦯Tik Tok @RonSolo1📻 Patreon Patreon.com/ronsouers📨Email Ronsouers@dadhdwss.com

Episode 049: In this continuation of a deeply vulnerable conversation, Ron speaks with Lara Land—yoga teacher, trauma consultant, and therapist—about the real work of healing: coming home to your body.Lara shares her multi-decade journey from the theater world to trauma-sensitive yoga, and how working with survivors of extreme violence in Rwanda transformed the way she helps others regulate, rebuild, and reconnect.Together, we explore how ADHD and trauma intersect, how fear can become an influential teacher, and why healing often starts with simply doing less—and listening more. You’ll learn:✅ Why trauma doesn’t just live in the mind, but in the body✅ How intention + movement can rewire your relationship with time and energy✅ The unseen trauma of disconnection and abandonment—and how to heal it✅ Why talking alone isn’t enough—and how ADHD brains respond to nervous system safety✅ Simple tools to build structure, regulate energy, and stay grounded (even on hard days)Whether you're living with ADHD, healing from trauma, or simply curious about how your nervous system actually works—this conversation is your invitation to slow down, breathe deep, and remember:You are not broken.
Episode 052: What does Christmas really mean—for people with ADHD, trauma, and tender hearts living in a loud, demanding world? In this powerful and reflective Christmas episode of Don’t Mind Me, I Just Have ADHD, Ron Souers returns to the original meaning of Christmas—not as a cultural holiday, but as a divine rescue mission. This episode explores why Jesus’ birth was first announced to shepherds—outsiders society dismissed—and why King Herod, clinging to control and power, rejected the same message in fear.
